I made another step of NY-hood today. I turned in my California driver's license for a New York one. I'll have the official picture license in a couple of weeks.
I have an apartment in Manhattan, all my stuff is here (and, for the most part, unpacked), I have a job to pay for it all, and now I'll have a native driver's license, too. I also had the DMV submit my info so that I'm registered to vote. I think there's no mistaking the fact I live here now!
Color me a New Yorker.
Oh, and I finally found a decent place to get a burrito. It's no California taqueria, but it'll do. And they have multiple really healthy vegetarian (vegan even! and brown rice! yay!) options to keep me happy while still shedding the brain-drug-fallout weight and getting back to my baseline. I stepped on the scale yesterday, btw, and I've lost 10 more pounds. That makes 35 or 40 lbs. lost since I got here (I can't remember exactly where I was when I moved since I'd lost a bit before I left CA, as well). Not quite as quickly as if I was really working at it more, but I think that will only be easier when I get back to a regular daily routine and am cooking regularly. I've been terrible the past week and a half while in "vacation mode".
