Happiness

I start work the 20th, so am still enjoying "vacation mode", although I'm definitely keeping busy. If there was to be a week "off" in Manhattan, this is the week! The weather has been pretty nice; warm but low on humidity. Walking home today it was absolutely gorgeous out when in the shade, which is usually easy to find on one side of the street or the other-- the advantage of so many tall buildings.

I started off in the wee small hours by doing a bit of organizing, moving some things around, cleaning a few things out of my closet, etc. I was finally able to sleep again after a bit of work. Weird and dreamy, but sleep nonetheless. Since I'm in the city, I'm trying to be productive in the midst of making room for fun.

After getting up and a quick breakfast, I went and caught a mattinee of "Becoming Jane". I understand it's not historically accurate by a long shot, but I thought it was enjoyable as fiction. I like Ann Hathaway and also really liked James McAvoy's performance, as well.

On my way home, I hit the pharmacy and my new favorite hardware store, running a few errands and such. I was happy to be outside walking in the relatively cool city. On a spur of the moment, I decided to stop by TKTS to see what was on the boards. I was aiming for "Spamalot", which I've still yet to see, but all they had left at that point was partial view, so I went for "Drowsy Chapperone" (worst title ever for a show, but I've been told I'll probably like it). On my way back from TKTS, I passed John Glover on the street, whom I really like and also happens to be in the show I'll be seeing this evening. I suppose this is the week of star sightings.

Okay, I have several things to do before I go out, so I'd better get on that!
