It's crazy outside! The current storm is like an Atlanta thunder storm. There is flooding all over the city and weather alerts on the television on almost a constant stream. Sometimes it's good to know you can just sit tight and not have to leave the house. I have a few things to do involving the outside world today, but luckily they can be done by phone. Lots of subway delays and road closures. People on Long Island are floating in their cars. Luckily, no power outages here (*knock wood*), although other boroughs are having huge outages. Queens and Brooklyn look like they've been hit harder than here.
I usually love thunder storms, although I'll admit that it wasn't very welcome this morning as it jolted me upright out of bed at 8am. I'd gotten to sleep by 10pm, as is my usual goal and on the heels of a really nice evening (as detailed in my previous entry), but was awakened a few times shortly after getting to sleep and didn't get back to sleep until after 4am. Counting the seconds (or second, as the case was), the lightning was pretty close and made its presence known with tremendous BOOMs. Not scary as much as it's just loud and impressive in its strength.
Things are supposed to be letting up soon. I should at least get as far as the gym today. This is the beauty of storms like this. They can hit hard, but they also hit fast and go on their merry way.
