New Yorkers can bitch all they want about the MTA (Manhattan Transit Authority). As one who's lived in multiple cities and experienced multiple mass transit systems, NYC doesn't do it half badly, considering the masses to which they cater.
I went into Manhattan today, despite the subway outage in the neighborhood (and half of Brooklyn, for this particular train's route). It was really easy and organized. The shuttle stops were clearly marked and, once we got to the connecting train, there were MTA employees with bullhorns to make sure they could get word out as to where to go, etc.
Spring has sprung in NYC. The weather outside was gorgeous today, sunny and slightly breezy. It's still a bit too warm indoors, though, while people get their climate control systems off of winter mode.
