It's weird to be on vacation away from home and think of returning to a place that used to be one of my favorite vacation spots. Pretty damn cool.
We kicked off the day at Cafe du Monde over beignets. It's a true breakfast of champions. We're headed out to the 9th Ward then a quick tour of Tulane (R's alma mater). Later on it's the river walk, aquarium (the largest salt water tank in the world, I believe), and maybe a casino or two.

- I'm a jazz musician (vocal), happy wife (yay!) and a non-traditional, slaving student (and loving it). I have a strong background in musical theatre, but most recently spent about a decade working in high tech, though I'm not your typical geek (not saying I'm not a geek, just different). I constantly feel the need for growth and learning new things. I am looking forward to being on both sides of that process as a teacher. I think once someone feels he has achieved perfection is the moment he stops feeling the need to strive for it and, thus, stops learning. I hope to never lose that internal drive. (I'm also the queen of parenthetical statements).
