This is just a quick post before I go dashing off again. Tonight I'm headed to the MCC Miscast benefit. It should be a lot of fun (anywhere where Jesse L. Martin is singing can't exactly suck).
What a weekend!! Yipes, it was a busy one, but excellent (if you don't count that the cold I battled a couple of weeks ago seems to be finding its way to my chest via throat when I thought I was out of the woods). Luckily, my voice held out for the evening.
Saw "Passing Strange". Stew is still rockin', as is the rest of the cast. The music rocks and the lyrics rival David Yazbeck. I loved it when I saw it at the Public. My opinion didn't change this afternoon. I scored with second row tickets. It was long enough ago that I'd forgotten critical parts to the story, so it was nice and fresh. I do want to see it again, however, because A) there was a kid in the audience (we're talking in the 2-ish range!) that kept fussing and making noise so it was hard to concentrate-- especially when yelling out "What's sex?!" in the middle of a quiet scene (not joking) and B) there's a part I'd forgotten about that hit hard so I'd like to see it when prepared.
Beforehand, I ran into an old acquaintance from San Francisco-- this world gets smaller and smaller. And every day more of an adventure.
