First Gear.... Second Gear...

Okay, nothing to do with NY, but I thought this was funny. Should Driver's Ed still be taught in schools? Here is one man's opinion:

Other updates: I just took my first real deep breath in days. It's been a brain-fryingly busy week-- and it's only Wednesday!! Luckily, today hasn't been all that bad. I was in meetings much of the day with allowed me to catch my breath a bit (although we're still very busy and will be for the foreseeable future). It helped that I finally got some decent sleep last night.

I suddenly found myself with a free evening, which worked out perfectly. Just as I pulled my phone out to call a friend to see if he was free, I saw I had a message from him 4 minutes earlier-- asking the same question! So, after a bit of yoga then cleaning myself back up to go out, I'll be meeting up with him for dinner.

As a promise to a friend, I'll be singing soon. In public. Voluntarily and on-purpose. It's been a while. I feel pretty rusty, actually, so it will be good to start greasing those wheels again. I know I'll feel so much better as soon as I hear the intro and take that first breath. The person going with me hasn't seen me perform live in probably 15+ years (being young and somewhat untrained at the time, it wasn't exactly my best work). He's heard recordings and such of me more recently, so it's not like it's a big mystery as to what I do, but the live experience is always a little more tangible-feeling.

I'm not sure I want to gig all that much in the near future (although I know it's probably an inevitability again at some point), I just want to find some good musicians and make good music. And there are a few people I actually want to share it with, as well.
