*edit*-- I just got back from buying new boots (I didn't have any boots with good tread). Thanks to Yelp, I found the perfect store nearby that I'd barely noticed before. To the naked eye of a passer by it looks like your ordinary tourist shop. The downstairs is huge, though, and has a lot of good stuff!! Okay, so I bought 2 pair :)
As I walked out the door, it started to snow. It's really coming down out there now. It was fun to watch kids who'd clearly never seen it before, trying to make snow balls from the small amount that had made it to the ground so far (when everyone knows cars are much better sources of fallen snow, haha).
I took this picture from my window a few minutes ago. It's coming down even heavier since I took it:

Is it crazy that I still want to walk uptown to the movies this afternoon instead of taking the subway? Probably, but I'll most likely do it anyway. Aside from my cheeks and nose, I was pretty cozy outside. My "fall" jacket seems to be perfectly fine in 20 degree weather as much as 50. I didn't even feel the need to transition to the heavy coat (although I'm happy for an excuse to finally wear it). For now, I'll make some breakfast and continue to enjoy the winter wonderland going on outside from my warm apartment on the other side of the windows.
