School Days (Daze?)

Today was proof to the old adage, "You learn something new every day". That seems to be happening in leaps and bounds as of late. There are learning opportunities and new things to explore at every turn. Of course, that's the beauty of being in a new place.

I can't believe I've been here for almost six months! In some ways, it feels like I've lived here my whole life. It's "home" in a way only San Francisco ever felt, which faded far before I left the west coast.

Life is crazy, I'm busier than I've been in ages, but couldn't be happier about it. Eventually, my schedule will even out a bit, allowing me more time to get out on "school nights", but it is what it is for now and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm always happiest when I'm learning. It's like being a perpetual student, but without the tuition hit and the massive pay cut. I'm not spending as much time on music as I'd like to, but that will come after the big deadline. Meanwhile, I'm also earning some nice comp time I can use later on.

I have several half-written emails to friends that have been sitting in "draft" mode for far too long. Soon I'll actually send them off.
