It's been a work-search heavy week. I've had a couple interviews, but no big news to share.
I did have a great interview today with a recruiter. I went down to his office, we sat and had a nice chat, and he seemed happy and impressed. Then again, I'm always far less nervous and much more myself when no specific position is at stake. I was in such a good mood that I walked home- in heels (of course, I had the obligitory comfy shoes in my bag that I'd worn walking my way there-- a big city must, unless you cab everywhere like Carrie Bradshaw).
A piece of interview advice-- when you've lost 20 lbs. recently, it's best to try your suits on again beforehand and reeeeally look at them. I tried them on last night and they felt fine, but when I was all dressed and looked in the mirror today, I looked like I was 5 and playing dress-up in my (well, someone's) mother's clothes! Luckily, I had another suit that wasn't as bad, but I definitely need to find a tailor, STAT. Hopefully, they can take in the jackets, but the trousers need alterations like crazy. Oh, man. I just bought them a few weeks ago, maybe a month, but that's a stretch. I didn't think there had been that much difference since, but I'm definitely down a full size. I'd hate for these suits to never get worn, unless it means gaining the weight back (no, thanks). These are some nice, designer duds.
When I got home, I got an email from a friend telling me that "In a Dark, Dark House" was up for comps. Yep, that's right. I not only get to see Ron Livingston live and in person, I get comp tickets. Sweeeeeet. If his understudy is on, I'll cry. I was a little nervous because I got an error when I tried to reserve the tickets and it wouldn't let me redo it, but I emailed the guy in charge and he got them for me. Whew!! I'm so glad I didn't order the other tickets for Sunday I'd been considering!
Tomorrow I'm going to Coney Island. I've never been. We can ride the sister coaster to the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz! Way cool. Hopefully, the weather will stay cool but nice. It's supposed to heat up again soon.
