Wonderful things here, the pleasures of which I've recently been introduced:
- Braeburn apples. If you happen on really good ones, they make the best afternoon snack.
- Restaurant week (which is really two weeks and happens more than once a year)
I've been back on track with the whole eating thing. It's been a challenge lately for a multitude of reasons, but shaking things up a bit helped. I've been eating entirely different foods from the rut I'd gotten myself into and it's working well. Even after a full dinner at Marseille with a huge, beautiful salad (dressing ON! - I NEVER do that!), scallops and a pot-a-creme (oh, my) for dessert, I actually found I'd slightly under-eaten for the day when adding everything up (which, of course, I do, because I'm slightly insane). Of course, not being a heavy drinker helps. I didn't skip any meals or anything, just made some adjustments to what I was eating earlier because I knew I'd be indulging this evening. I also didn't work out today, though, so eating slightly less balanced that out.
It was a lovely, leisurely meal. I like spending time with (certain) co-workers outside of the office and getting to know them better in a personal environment. I'm lucky to work with people I like both personally and professionally.
Okay, time to hit the showers then hit the sheets. It's past my bedtime.
