But it Stood 90 Years on the Floor

OMG!!

I was recently asked about my favorite childhood toy(s). What sprang to mind was a toy clock that played "My Grandfather's Clock", the music to which we also had in a volume of old folk songs. Out of curiosity, I Googled it and found... yep, the clock. I haven't thought about that thing in years.

While I was at it, I also found evidence of the Show 'n Tell record player. Mine was also red. I got it as a hand-me-down but loved it to its dying day (or, likely a dying bulb, and later belt, my mother didn't want to replace). My favorite slide show was a Winnie the Pooh story. Of course, it played my Partridge Family record just as nicely. Hey, now, I was a kid!

I love the Internet.

I wonder whatever happened to that old book with the Grandfather Clock song in it. It contained a lot of cool stuff. I imagine my brother probably ended up with it at some point. My mother handed him a lot of old family stuff when she gave him the house. I'd love to have it again, but don't even know what it was called.
